Appraisal well Ravn – 3 in the Danish North Sea confirmed oil
Bayerngas Norge AS, through its wholly owned Bayerngas Petroleum Danmark as, is a partner in License 5/06 in Denmark. As operator for the companies in this license Wintershall Nordzee B.V. has drilled the Ravn-3 (5504/5-2) appraisal well in the westernmost part of the Danish part of the North Sea.
Bayerngas Norge AS, through its wholly owned Bayerngas Petroleum Danmark as, is a partner in License 5/06 in Denmark. As operator for the companies in this license Wintershall Nordzee B.V. has drilled the Ravn-3 (5504/5-2) appraisal well in the westernmost part of the Danish part of the North Sea. Ravn-3 was drilled as a slanted well and reached its total vertical depth at 4469 meters below mean sea level in layers of Triassic age. The well encountered Upper Jurassic sandstone layers containing hydrocarbons. The production test confirmed the presence of oil. The well Ravn-3 was spudded 15 September 2009 with the jack-up rig Noble George Sauvageau. The well will be temporarily suspended.
